“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” ― Bill Bryson

Sunset in Rome

The Roman Forum at Sunset

In a city as magnificent as Rome, with as many historic sites as this city boasts, it's not hard to imagine the vast number of places from which you can witness the beauty of the setting sun.

There are some choice sites more obvious than others, like watching the sunset from the top of the Palazzo Venezia (which is pretty epic, it must be said) but if you really want to witness the glory of historic Rome bathed in the warm light of the setting sun, there's no way you should overlook finding a prime spot above The Forum.

Because there's nothing quite like wandering up one of Rome's seven hills and watching the sunset over the ruins of this ancient city.
