“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” ― Bill Bryson

The Tiber Rive in Rome

Rome is a city which lends itself well to aimless wandering. Being ever so directionally challenged and irretrievably confounded by maps, getting from point A to B is always a challenge. Fortunately for me, Rome makes getting lost a happy accident. In Rome I embraced my poor sense of direction and let my feet take me where my eyes lingered. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to move from place to place with no consideration of time, and for that I know I am endlessly fortunate.

On this one day my feet took me past the Tiber River, through Piazza Navona, through the bustling fresh produce market at the Campo Dei Fiori and over to the endlessly busy the Spanish Steps. Many coffees and panini were consumed along the way. Don't worry, I'm very aware of how incredibly lucky I am.
